University Programs

Welcome, Faculty and Students!

Thank you for visiting the 17Թ University Programs homepage. Our programs are intended to assist in the development of future professionals who are knowledgeable in structural steel behavior and design, and to foster career development of faculty members through support of teaching, research and service.

Within this area of the 17Թ website, you will find important information on our many benefits and opportunities available to students and steel educators. Learn more about our student competitions, 17Թ Student Manual Discount program, helpful teaching aids, free student and educator 17Թ memberships, scholarships and much more, all by following the links on either side of this note. Watch the recording of our webinar, "Resources for Steel Educators: Tips and Treasures" to learn about the growing array of faculty resources that 17Թ provides.

We invite you to bookmark this page and check back frequently as new updates will be posted in our Announcements section below.

We wish you great success!

  • Welcome New Educators! We have an abundance of resources and programs to support you and your students, and we compiled the information into one location to help get you started.
  • The 2023 Student SteelDay Contest is coming soon! Get your students involved in sharing their favorite structural steel photos, and they could win some prizes!
  • Many faculty are still operating virtually or in a hybrid set up. View just some of the digital resources available to faculty on our Virtual Teaching Resources webpage.
  • Did you know that 17Թ offers college-level students a way to formally organize and develop a student organization that is recognized by 17Թ and the 17Թ Education Foundation? We encourage students at U.S. colleges and universities to create an affiliated 17Թ Student Club to access a variety of benefits.

  • We're pleased to announce the 24rd annual ACSA/17Թ Steel Design Student Competition for the 2023-2024 academic year! Category I: STEEL INNOVATION CENTER asks students to design a Steel Innocation Construction Center in downtown St. Louis, MO. The site is part of the Construction Innovation District & Master Development just south of the Gateway Arch. Program spaces include areas for exhibition, fabrication, training, and community outreach. Category II: OPEN allows students to select a site and building program.
